Report: Brookfield Property in talks to buy Manhattan, NY, mixed-use towers

Commercial real estate company Brookfield Property Partners LP is in discussions to acquire the Waterside Plaza mixed-use property in Manhattan, N.Y., for approximately $600 million, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report quoted property owner Richard Ravitch as saying that he is in negotiations with various parties and that Waterside Plaza is not being sold.

Waterside Plaza includes stores, apartments, and space rented to the British International School of New York.

One of the sources told Bloomberg that no deal has been finalized and that the talks may not result in a deal.

Bloomberg added that a Brookfield representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
