Eurozone industrial producer prices rise in December 2017

Industrial producer prices in the euro area edged up 0.2% in December 2017 on a monthly basis, compared to a 0.6% rise in November 2017, estimates from statistical agency Eurostat showed.

Prices for intermediate goods rose by 0.2% in December 2017 while energy sector, capital goods and durable goods prices saw a 0.1% increase each.

As compared to December 2016, industrial producer prices rose by 2.2% in the bloc, led by a 3.0% increase in intermediate goods and a 2.9% rise in energy sector prices.

On average, annual industrial producer prices jumped by 3.1% in 2017.
