Hottolink Q1 loss narrows YOY

Hottolink Inc. said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to a loss of 88 Japanese sen per share, compared with a loss of ¥4.75 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥9.4 million, compared with a loss of ¥46.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to negative 1.7% from negative 7.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.0% year over year to ¥565.0 million from ¥628.0 million, and total operating expenses declined 14.3% on an annual basis to ¥570.0 million from ¥665.0 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥11.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.03 per share, compared to a loss of ¥75.0 million, or a loss of ¥7.70 per share, in the prior-year period.
