Fitch upgrades short-term ratings of Commerzbank, US unit

Fitch Ratings on Sept. 6 upgraded the short-term issuer default rating and short-term deposit rating of Commerzbank AG to F1 from F2.

The ratings were removed from under criteria observation, where they have been since May 7.

The short-term senior unsecured debt of the company's U.S.-based Commerzbank US Finance Inc. unit was also upgraded to F1 from F2.

The upgrades reflect Commerzbank's sound liquidity and balanced funding.
