Piper Jaffray Cos. will change its ticker symbol on the NYSE to PIPR following the completion of its merger with Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP.

The new ticker symbol, as well as the change in the company's name to Piper Sandler Cos., will become effective after the merger.

The deal is expected to close Jan. 3, 2020.
