Avino Silver & Gold upgrades resources at namesake mine in Mexico

Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. said Feb. 21 that an updated resource estimate for its namesake Avino operation in Mexico increased measured and indicated tonnes by 225%, while inferred tonnes decreased by 25%.

Measured and indicated resources total 10.7 million tonnes grading 77 g/t of silver, 0.63 g/t of gold and 0.37% copper, or 139 g/t of silver equivalent, for 26.3 million ounces of silver, 217,200 ounces of gold and 39,000 tonnes of copper, or 47.5 million ounces of silver equivalent.

Inferred resources are estimated at 6.1 million tonnes grading 70 g/t of silver, 0.56 g/t of gold and 0.24% copper, or 118 g/t of silver equivalent, for 13.6 million ounces of silver, 109,200 ounces of gold and 15,000 tonnes of copper, or 23.2 million ounces of silver equivalent.

The estimate incorporates data from 34 new drillholes and uses cutoffs of 60 g/t of silver equivalent for the San Luis and ET deposits at the Avino mine, 130 g/t of silver equivalent for the San Gonzalo mine and 50 g/t of silver equivalent for oxide tailings.

"The successful drill program that started in 2016 has allowed us to evaluate the tonnage and grade in the area between the San Luis workings and the ET production area, the results of which have now been incorporated into this updated mineral resource estimate," said David Wolfin, president and CEO of Avino Silver & Gold.
