Newcrest Mining Ltd. said March 30 that it has resumed processing operations at the Cadia gold-copper mine in New South Wales, Australia.
The processing operations are running a reduced rated due to limited infrastructure at the southern tailings facility.
The company declared force majeure on copper concentrate shipments at the Cadia East mine in mid-March after halting operations earlier due to a tailings dam breach at the northern tailings facility.
"There will be no deposition of tailings into the northern tailings storage facility, with work continuing on evaluating the cause of the northern tailings facility embankment slump," Newcrest said.
Mining operations began March 26.
