DENSO Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥83.26 per share, an increase of 49.1% from ¥55.83 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥64.92 billion, a gain of 46.9% from ¥44.21 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 5.4% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 10.6% on an annual basis to ¥1.199 trillion from ¥1.084 trillion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.8% year over year to ¥1.087 trillion from ¥1.009 trillion.
Reported net income rose 50.8% on an annual basis to ¥77.49 billion, or ¥99.38 per share, from ¥51.39 billion, or ¥64.90 per share.
As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.32.
