Executive, director moves through Aug. 11

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of recent board and executive changes in the metals and mining industry. The moves are listed in chronological order.

Aug. 7

Australian Pacific Coal Ltd. appointed Andrew Roach as CFO and company secretary, replacing Kevin Mischewski. He joins from Stanmore Coal Ltd. where he held the same position.

Perth-based Krakatoa Resources Ltd. named company secretary David Palumbo as a nonexecutive director. Palumbo, a chartered accountant, also serves as a nonexecutive director and company secretary for Quest Minerals Ltd., RotoGro International Ltd. and European Cobalt Ltd., alongside a number of unlisted public companies. The company also announced the departure of nonexecutive director Aryo Bimo.

Meanwhile, Yuk Chor Choi resigned as a director of Adavale Resources Ltd. to pursue other business interests.

Citic Ltd. mandated Liu Zhuyu as nonexecutive director and a member of the company's remuneration committee, effective immediately. Liu previously held various posts with ministries and government departments.

Aug. 8

Australian technology minerals company Talga Resources Ltd. appointed Ola Rinnan as a nonexecutive director. Rinnan joins as the first member of the company's board to be based in Europe as Talga seeks to develop graphite-graphene processing and product technology operations in Europe, while expanding its range of industrial partners globally.

Miranda Gold Corp. signed John Anderson as a member of its board of directors. Anderson is chairman of advisory firm Purplefish Capital Management Ltd., chairman of Triumph Gold Corp. and a director of American Eagle Energy Corp., Huakan International Mining Inc. and Parallel Mining Corp.

Bravura Ventures Corp. has extended its board of directors to include Jerry Huang, who previously held positions with TNR Gold Corp. and International Lithium Corp.

Melior Resources Inc. has filled the position of COO, appointing Logan Francis to oversee the final preparations for restarting the company's flagship Goondicum ilmenite project in Queensland, Australia. The hire is the first of several anticipated additions in relation to restarting the project.

Calgary-based Kairos Capital Corp. named Steven Cochrane as its new president and chief executive, pending approval by the TSX Venture Exchange, as the company continues to roll out and expand its lithium strategy. Cochrane brings 36 years of experience in the investment industry and most recently served as vice president and investment advisor at Richardson GMP.

Aug. 9

Yuk Tong Ko joined AustChina Holdings Ltd. as a nonexecutive director, bringing 30 years' experience in China trade and cross-border transactions.

ASX-listed ActivEX Ltd. named Geoff Baker, previously a nonexecutive director, as a director.

Anchor Resources Ltd. mandated Ian Price as managing director of the company ahead of an expanded exploration program at the company's Blicks, Walsh River and Gemini properties.

Other Aug. 9 director appointments included Richard Savage, who joined the board of directors of Crystal Lake Mining Corp.; Manuel Rivera, president and CEO of Grupo Expansión, who will serve at the board of Americas Silver Corp.; as well as Morgan Good, who has taken on the role of director and chief executive of ALQ Gold Corp., following the resignation of Stephen Leahy. Good founded Patriot Capital Corp. and presently serves as president and director of Secova Metals Corp.

Aug. 10

North American fertilizer producer Potash Ridge Corp. has made Ross Phillips its interim CFO, following the departure of Petra Decher.

Wallbridge Mining Co. Ltd. has added Shawn Day to its board of directors. Day is the general manager of a mining contracting firm that is a shareholder in Wallbridge.

Aug. 11

NMG Corp. Ltd. appointed investment professional Gregg Taylor as a nonexecutive director.

Prosper Gold Corp. added independent director Dexter John to its board, effective immediately. He is executive vice president of D. F. King. Additionally, the company named Sara McManus as its corporate secretary.
