NowNews Digital Media Technology Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of $52,210, compared with a loss of $66,610 in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to negative 9.7% from negative 12.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to $535,860 from $515,990, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to $725,100 from $707,300.

Reported net income totaled a loss of $123,140, or a loss of 1 cents per share, compared to a loss of $138,820, or a loss of 1 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
