Cambodian Public Bank reports YOY increase in FY'16 net income

Cambodian Public Bank Plc posted a year-over-year increase in its net profit for the year ended Dec. 31, 2016.

The bank said Jan. 12 that net income attributable to equity holders edged up to US$48.2 million from US$47.1 million in the prior-year period.

Net interest income rose to US$67.1 million from US$65.3 million, while net fee and commission income fell to US$11.7 million from US$12 million.

Total operating income for the 2016 full year grew to US$82 million from US$80.9 million.

The bank's provisions for losses on loans and advances amounted to US$1.1 million, up year over year from US$722,239 in 2015.

As of Dec. 31, 2016, the bank's nonperforming loans ratio stood at 0.84%, up from 0.74% at the end of 2015, while interest margin to gross income dropped to 63.80% from 66.04% over the same period.
