Aska Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Nov. 30, 2016, came to ¥17.51 per share, compared with a loss of ¥12.89 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥100.0 million, compared with a loss of ¥73.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.7% from negative 1.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 17.4% year over year to ¥5.91 billion from ¥5.04 billion, and total operating expenses increased 15.5% year over year to ¥5.74 billion from ¥4.97 billion.
Reported net income came to ¥95.0 million, or ¥16.64 per share, compared to a loss of ¥175.0 million, or a loss of ¥30.65 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥44.29 per share, a gain of 36.3% from ¥32.49 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥252.9 million, an increase of 36.3% from ¥185.5 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 5.5% on an annual basis to ¥20.14 billion from ¥19.09 billion, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥19.64 billion from ¥18.72 billion.
The company said reported net income rose on an annual basis to ¥105.0 million, or ¥18.39 per share, in the full year, from ¥32.0 million, or ¥5.60 per share.
