Wpd to construct 72-MW wind farm in Sweden

German renewable energy developer wpd AG plans to construct a 72-MW wind project in the municipality of Skellefteå, Sweden.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S will supply 17 turbines for the Aldermyrberget project, according to a May 16 release, each with an output of 4.2 MW.

Wpd has also inked a long-term power purchase agreement with a Swedish industrial group. The company did not disclose any financial details.

"After a long planning period and a few setbacks, it now becomes clear that it was right and important to persist with the Swedish market and Aldermyrberget," wpd Scandinavia AB Managing Director Maria Röske said.
