Red Planet Indonesia swings to loss in Q1

PT Red Planet Indonesia Tbk said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 1.41 rupiah per share, compared with 16 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 9.54 billion rupiah, compared with income of 66.0 million rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 47.8% from 0.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to 19.95 billion rupiah from 8.09 billion rupiah, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to 28.78 billion rupiah from 8.00 billion rupiah.

Reported net income came to a loss of 15.18 billion rupiah, or a loss of 2.24 rupiah per share, compared to income of 92.1 million rupiah, or 22 sen per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of April 29, US$1 was equivalent to 12,900 rupiah.
