Arctic Star Exploration Corp. doubled the size of its Timantti diamond project in Finland via the acquisition of a 98,000-hectare exploration reservation package from the country's mining authority.
The project's total land package now stands at 193,700 hectares, according to a May 10 release.
Arctic Star spent C$3,750 plus associated legal costs to acquire the new package, which extends its current position to the south where previous work discovered at least one kimberlite body.
To date, the company has focused on a 243-hectare exploration permit within the initial 95,700-hectare exploration reservation. It has now applied for a permit for the new ground and expects to begin a work program this summer.
