African Trade Insurance Agency plans to recruit more members from West Africa, a move that could dilute Kenya's stake in the company, Business Daily (Africa) reported.
The company, which opened its doors to Cote d'Ivoire and South Sudan in 2017, is eyeing West African countries through the Economic Community of West African States regional platform, CEO George Otieno said. The company is also considering countries that expressed interest and submitted applications, the executive said.
The company has planned new offices in Benin, Cote d'Ivoire and Ethiopia, according to the report.
Kenya currently owns a 12% stake in African Trade Insurance Agency, down from 15% a few years ago.
