Report: Cloud services firm Salesforce in advanced talks to acquire MuleSoft

Cloud services provider Salesforce.com Inc. is in advanced talks to buy software provider MuleSoft Inc. in a deal potentially worth more than $6 billion, Reuters reported.

The report's sources said the companies could announce a deal as early as this week, though it was still uncertain whether an agreement would be reached.

If the negotiations succeed, the MuleSoft acquisition would be Salesforce's largest deal ever, according to Reuters.

In 2015, Salesforce's global corporate investment arm, Salesforce Ventures, led a $128 million funding round in MuleSoft, which makes software for integrating applications, data and devices.
