Mapfre Middlesea to get new board member as MAPFRE shuffles leadership

Maltese insurer Mapfre Middlesea Plc said institutional shareholder MAPFRE Internacional SA will appoint Jaime Tamayo to be its representative on Mapfre Middlesea's board.

Tamayo will replace Javier Fernández-Cid, who is retiring as a MAPFRE executive. Tamayo, currently president and CEO of MAPFRE USA Corp. Inc., is to replace Fernández-Cid as CEO for international business of MAPFRE SA, the Spanish ultimate parent of the MAPFRE group.

The Mapfre Middlesea change takes effect Jan. 1, 2017, subject to approval by the Malta Financial Services Authority.
