SEC names co-directors of enforcement division

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has named Stephanie Avakian and Steven Peikin co-directors of its Division of Enforcement.

Avakian has been serving as acting director of the Division of Enforcement since December 2016, after previously serving as deputy director of the division since June 2014.

Peikin most recently worked as managing partner of Sullivan & Cromwell's criminal defense and investigations group. He served as assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1996 to 2004.
