Berlin-based insurance startup Coya AG gathered $30 million in its latest funding round, bringing its total fundraising to $40 million, TechCrunch reported.
The platform seeks to offer renter's insurance once it obtains a German insurance license, according to co-founder Andrew Shaw. He also expects to add to the company's staff of 55 people using the new funding.
Coya's investors include Valar Ventures LP, which is backed by PayPal founder Peter Thiel, as well as eVentures and La Famiglia.
