Italy's seasonally adjusted trade surplus contracted to €4.44 billion in July, from a revised €5.2 billion balance in June, the Italian National Institute of Statistics reported.
On a monthly basis, exports declined 2.3% and imports fell 0.5%. Exports to non-EU countries fell 3.9% and imports from them climbed 0.3%. Exports to and imports from EU countries each fell 1.1%.
On a yearly basis, total exports accelerated 6.2% while imports edged up 1.8% on an unadjusted basis.
