United Power replaces director at Tri-State board

United Power Inc. named James Vigesaa to the board of directors of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc.

Vigesaa will replace Richard Newman, effective April 3. He will serve on the board's external affairs-member relations committee, according to a Form 8-K filed March 26.

Based in Brighton, Colo., United Power is a rural electric cooperative member of Tri-State Generation and Transmission, whose 43-member board recently selected Duane Highley as new CEO. The wholesale power provider, which supplies power to member distribution cooperatives in four states, has been facing discontent within its network about the prices and sources of its power.
