Insurance moves: Mt. Logan Re CEO leaves; Aetna CFO to replace CVS Health's

June 6

CNA Financial Corp. hired Garrett Williams as senior vice president and chief compliance officer.

Darin Scanzano was named CEO of Everest Insurance Co. of Canada and will join the company later in the summer.

Aetna Inc. CFO Shawn Guertin will succeed CVS Health Corp.'s outgoing CFO, David Denton, who will leave the pharmacy healthcare services provider after it completes its $69 billion acquisition of Aetna.

June 5

SAIF Corp. chose Laura Robison as its chief actuarial officer, effective in September, the Insurance Journal reported.

SIU, a division of Alliant Specialty Insurance Services Inc., appointed catastrophe underwriter Kelley Bernal senior vice president and senior director of underwriting.

Nautilus Insurance Group appointed Allison Kenworthy senior vice president and CFO.

June 4

Anthem Inc. named Felicia Norwood executive vice president and president of the government business division, effective June 18.

Brighthouse Financial Inc. named Conor Murphy executive vice president and COO, effective June 5. He will succeed Peter Carlson, who will become a special adviser to Eric Steigerwalt, Brighthouse's president and CEO, until Carlson's retirement at the end of the year.

EHealth Inc. appointed Derek Yung CFO, effective June 4 and David Francis will continue as its COO.

Munich Reinsurance America Inc. hired Jean Vernor in the newly created position of head of incubator in its new strategic markets unit.

Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC hired Shiv Kumar as president and global leader of the capital markets team at GC Securities.

XL Catlin Insurance hired Donnacha Smyth as president of its global excess casualty insurance division and Carla Greaves as the division's chief underwriting officer. Greaves was promoted from her previous role as head of excess casualty underwriting for Bermuda at XL Catlin.

June 1

IFG Cos. promoted Manuel Almagro to CFO and Andrew Kempen to chief actuary. Joseph Hoffmann, the previous CFO, will be moving into a new role to support the insurer and the group president on strategic initiatives.

May 31

Aon PLC appointed Andrew Marcell CEO of its reinsurance solutions business, the division to be created as the company retires the Aon Benfield Inc. brand.

Brit Ltd. appointed Tom Rea senior vice president of miscellaneous professional liability and Jim Kelly assistant vice president of construction professional at BRIT Global Specialty USA.

Hanover Insurance Group Inc. named Frank Baron president of alternative markets, a newly created unit within the company's domestic specialty group.

Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. appointed Glen Tiziani senior vice president of sales and distribution, effective May 21.

The CEO of Mt. Logan Re Ltd., Rick Pagnani, will be stepping down after leading the company for five years. David Whiting, chief underwriting officer, was appointed president and chief underwriting officer.

As a part of the AXIS Re's new organizational model, it appointed Jon Colello as president for North America, while Jan Ekberg will continue as president for EMEA. Peter Kiernan will remain president for Bermuda and Les Loh was promoted to president of Asia. Rob Smart was appointed interim president of the newly created global markets division. Megan Thomas, who was recently named chief underwriting officer, will lead the newly created reinsurance products team. CFO and COO Rob Looney will take charge of the reinsurance services team.
