BlackEarth defines 1st resource for Razafy graphite deposit at Maniry

BlackEarth Minerals NL posted an initial resource estimate for the Razafy deposit at its Maniry property in Madagascar, with a scoping study expected to be completed in the fourth quarter ahead of a feasibility study targeted for 2019.

Razafy hosts indicated and inferred resources totaling 11.2 million tonnes grading an average 7.10% total graphitic carbon, or TGC, comprising 8 million tonnes at 7.22% TGC in the indicated category and 3.2 million tonnes at 6.80% TGC in the inferred category.

The company, which completed a A$5.5 million initial public offering in January, said Aug. 9 that the analysis incorporated 5,371 meters of diamond drilling and used a cutoff of 6% TGC.

BlackEarth is planning to undertake another phase of exploration at Razafy and also anticipates an initial resource estimate for the Haja prospect at Maniry, both in the fourth quarter.
