Keyence fiscal Q4 profit climbs 38.1% YOY

Keyence Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 20 came to ¥265.43 per share, a gain of 38.1% from ¥192.14 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥32.19 billion, a gain of 38.1% from ¥23.30 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 35.0% from 32.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 26.5% on an annual basis to ¥91.86 billion from ¥72.60 billion, and total operating expenses increased 19.6% year over year to ¥42.68 billion from ¥35.69 billion.

Reported net income increased 49.1% year over year to ¥34.40 billion, or ¥283.66 per share, from ¥23.07 billion, or ¥190.19 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥960.30 per share, compared to EPS of ¥704.64 in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥116.47 billion, an increase from ¥85.46 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased year over year to ¥334.03 billion from ¥265.01 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥158.31 billion from ¥134.32 billion.

The company said reported net income rose on an annual basis to ¥121.06 billion, or ¥998.20 per share, in the full year, from ¥85.90 billion, or ¥708.28 per share.
