AT&T Fiber reaches 12 new metro areas

AT&T Inc.'s ultrafast internet service, AT&T Fiber, is now available in parts of 12 new metro areas across the U.S.

Areas where the fiber service is now available are Amarillo, Beaumont and Waco in Texas; Bowling Green, Ky.; Florence, S.C.; Panama City, Gainesville and Pensacola, Fla.; Lake Charles, La.; Topeka, Kan.; and Hattiesburg, Miss., and northeast Mississippi.

Fiber network now powered by AT&T Fiber is now live in more than 10 million locations across 84 metros, according to a Dec. 12 news release.

The U.S. carrier plans to reach at least 14 million locations by mid-2019.
