Household and personal-care products maker Unicharm Corp. on May 13 slightly raised its basic EPS outlook for the full fiscal year as it reported results for the first quarter ended March 31.
The Tokyo-based disposable diapers and sanitary napkins maker now expects basic EPS to come in at ¥106.70 for the year ending Dec. 31, compared to its previous expectation of ¥106.42.
Unicharm said it continues to expect net sales to grow 6.1% to ¥730 billion.
For the first quarter, the Japanese company posted basic EPS of ¥21.30, below the S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus mean estimate for GAAP EPS of ¥24.40. Basic EPS in the same quarter last year was ¥24.21.
Net sales for the three months period totaled ¥168.61 billion, up 4.8% year over year. Total comprehensive income during the quarter came in at ¥22.08 billion.
