Fast Retailing's GU to launch online-offline store concept

Japan's Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. said Sept. 5 that it plans to open a next-generation apparel store in Tokyo under its GU banner that will link online and offline shopping.

The new store for the discount clothing chain will be called GU Style Studio and is set to open in the city's fashion district of Harajuku in November.

It will offer samples of GU's full range of men's and women's clothing to be styled by customers, who can then place orders for apparel items through the brand's online store and arrange for in-person pickup.
