Mirage Energy unit inks interconnect deal with Whistler Pipeline

Mirage Energy Corp. subsidiary WPF Transmission Inc. entered into an interconnect agreement with Whistler Pipeline LLC in a move that would allow Mexico to access natural gas from the Permian Basin.

Under the deal, the interconnect will take place in Texas between the Agua Dulce-to-Banquet header pipeline and WPF's 42-inch Concho line, according to an Oct. 8 news release. The Concho line will start at Agua Dulce and run to the U.S.-Mexico border, where it will connect to WPF's 42-inch line in Mexico, which links to the Sistrangas system, Mexico's national pipeline network. There is also a line that connects the Mexican pipeline to the Brazil Field storage project, which would allow Mexico to pull from storage to balance supply and demand, according to the release.

Whistler is developing a 2-Bcf/d natural gas pipeline project that would deliver Permian-produced gas from Waha, Texas, to Agua Dulce. MPLX LP, WhiteWater Midstream LLC, and a joint venture of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and West Texas Gas Inc. sanctioned the project in June.
