Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Jan. 29 amounted to $1.74 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.91 per share.
EPS decreased year over year from $1.79.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $41.8 million, a decline from $42.9 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 5.5% from 5.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to $764.0 million from $756.0 million, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to $693.5 million from $682.6 million.
Reported net income rose year over year to $48.3 million, or $2.01 per share, from $47.1 million, or $1.96 per share.
