Pepco Holdings seeks to hike electric rates in Maryland

Exelon Corp. subsidiary Pepco Holdings LLC filed with the Maryland Public Service Commission for approval of a proposed increase in electric delivery rates to recover about $29.99 million related to reliability project expenses.

Under the proposal, an average Maryland residential customer using 863 kWh would see a monthly bill increase of 2.76%, or about $3.51.

Pepco spent over $100 million in 2018 on projects to modernize and strengthen Maryland's power grid, it said in a Jan. 15 news release.
