Multiverse Investment Fund I GP LLC debuted a venture capital fund that will back biotech and high-technology companies.
The vehicle, known as Multiverse Investment Fund I LP, started its operations in West Los Angeles.
Multiverse Investment Fund I GP, which backs 12 companies, focuses on early- or late-stage businesses in health, life sciences, materials science, energy and high-technology markets.
Founder and former ZetaRx Biosciences Inc. Chairman and CEO Jack Kavanaugh is one of the managing members of the fund's general partner. Kavanaugh is joined by Larry Couture, founding director and senior vice president of the Center for Applied Technology at City Of Hope; Keith Black, professor and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; Mahi de Silva, former CEO at Opera Mediaworks Inc.; Robert Snukal, CEO and president at National Quality Care Inc.; and Daniel Diamond, lawyer and principal at Diamond Law Corp.
