PacifiCorp acquires 750 MW of wind projects in Wyoming from Invenergy

PacifiCorp completed its acquisition of two under-construction wind projects in Wyoming with a combined capacity of 750 MW for undisclosed financial terms.

Invenergy LLC developed the 250-MW Ekola Flats and 500-MW TB Flats I & II projects in Carbon County for the Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary, which does business as Rocky Mountain Power in Wyoming, according to a May 20 news release.

The acquisition supports PacifiCorp's $3.1 billion Energy Vision 2020 initiative to support its wind energy resources by adding 1,150 MW of wind resources by the end of 2020, repowering 900 MW existing projects and adding a high-voltage transmission line.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S will supply the turbines for both projects, which are expected to enter operations in 2020.
