Silver Standard Resources Inc. said March 27 that Peter Tomsett will not stand for re-election and has decided to retire from the chairman post, after over 10 years of being a board member, at the close of the company's May 4 annual and special meeting of shareholders.
Michael Anglin, a Silver Standard board member since 2008, was appointed to succeed Tomsett as the company's new chairman, effective May 4 and subject to his re-election during the shareholder meeting on the same day.
Silver Standard is also planning to seek shareholder approval for its proposed name change to SSR Mining Inc. during the May 4 meeting.
