Artnature fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Artnature Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥19.22 per share, a decrease of 52.6% from ¥40.53 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥638.1 million, a decrease of 50.6% from ¥1.29 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 6.7% from 13.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell year over year to ¥9.55 billion from ¥9.68 billion, and total operating expenses increased 11.5% from the prior-year period to ¥8.50 billion from ¥7.62 billion.

Reported net income fell 48.4% year over year to ¥625.8 million, or ¥18.85 per share, from ¥1.21 billion, or ¥38.05 per share.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
