Okla. regulator approves 5.1% reduction in workers' comp loss cost for 2020

The Oklahoma Insurance Department approved a 5.1% decrease in workers' compensation insurance loss costs for 2020 in the state.

Loss costs are the average cost of lost wages and medical payments of workers injured during their employment. The state's lost time claim frequency is projected to continue its downward trend into 2020.

The new rates will be effective Jan. 1, 2020.
