KKR buys majority stake in Indian education services provider

KKR & Co. finalized its purchase of a majority stake in EuroKids International Pvt. Ltd., an education services provider based in Mumbai, India.

The global investment firm made the acquisition out of KKR Asian Fund III.

The seller is a consortium of existing investors led by Indian private equity firm Gaja Capital, which first invested in EuroKids in 2013.

The existing management team led by EuroKids co-founder and CEO Prajodh Rajan, along with its educators and administrators, will continue to manage the business. Rajan will also continue as a shareholder in the company.

EY-Parthenon, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Barclays and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised KKR on the deal. Avendus Capital was the exclusive financial adviser to EuroKids and the sellers. Nishith Desai & Associates and Pioneer Legal were the legal advisers to EuroKids and Gaja, respectively.
