Semba Tohka Industries Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥6.86 per share, a gain of 98.4% from ¥3.46 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥78.1 million, a gain of 98.4% from ¥39.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 1.9% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 15.0% on an annual basis to ¥4.19 billion from ¥3.64 billion, and total operating expenses grew 12.3% on an annual basis to ¥4.05 billion from ¥3.60 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥63.0 million, or a loss of ¥5.53 per share, compared to a loss of ¥13.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.14 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥36.34 per share, a gain of 44.9% from ¥25.09 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥413.8 million, a gain of 44.9% from ¥285.6 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose 8.6% year over year to ¥17.30 billion from ¥15.93 billion, and total operating expenses rose 7.3% on an annual basis to ¥16.59 billion from ¥15.46 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 34.5% year over year to ¥304.0 million, or ¥26.70 per share, in the full year, from ¥226.0 million, or ¥19.85 per share.
As of June 30, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.42.
