Rockville, Md.-based Capital Bancorp names next chairman

Rockville, Md.-based Capital Bancorp Inc. named Steven Schwartz chairman of the company's board, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

Schwartz will succeed Stephen Ashman, who has been chairman of Capital Bancorp's board since 2002. Ashman will remain a member of the company's board and continue to serve as lead director of Capital Bank NA.

Schwartz, who is an attorney and certified public accountant, has served on the bank's board since 2002 and is the chairman of the finance committee, as well as a member of the executive and loan committees. He is also a member of Capital Bancorp's audit, executive, compensation and governance committees.
