Chalice files license applications for Flinders River, Julimar vanadium projects

Chalice Gold Mines Ltd. said May 23 that it applied for a suite of exploration licenses, forming both the Flinders River vanadium project in Queensland and the Julimar nickel-vanadium project in Western Australia.

The Flinders River project consists of nine license applications, covering an area of 2,270 square kilometers, while the Julimar project consists of two license applications covering an area of 156 square kilometers.

The license application areas include multiple vanadium targets, which are also prospective for nickel, copper, platinum group elements and titanium.

The miner expects the grant of the exploration licenses in the third quarter of the year, which will be followed by field reconnaissance work. A subsequent targeted ground magnetic, gravity and electromagnetic survey program will be used as the basis for follow-up drill testing.
