Majestic Wine PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended March 30 came to 9 Great British pence per share, a decrease of 30.0% from 13 pence per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £6.2 million, a decline of 30.2% from £8.9 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue rose year over year to £150.7 million from £148.0 million, and total operating expenses increased 5.3% year over year to £140.7 million from £133.7 million.
Reported net income declined 31.5% year over year to £7.1 million, or 11 pence per share, from £10.3 million, or 16 pence per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 17 pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 25 pence.
EPS declined 22.6% from 22 pence in the prior year.
Normalized net income was £11.5 million, a decline of 22.5% from £14.8 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to £284.5 million from £278.2 million, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to £266.0 million from £254.3 million.
The company said reported net income decreased 23.2% year over year to £13.5 million, or 20 pence per share, in the full year, from £17.6 million, or 27 pence per share.
