21st CenturyFox Inc. settled a class-action lawsuit over unpaid internships,Reuters reported July 12.
Former unpaid interns Eric Glatt and Alexander Footmanfiled suits againstFox Searchlight Pictures Inc. in 2011, alleging that work they performed on themovie "Black Swan" did not fulfill the legal requirements for unpaidinternships. The lawsuit was later expandedto include all interns who participated in Fox Entertainment Group's internshipprogram.
Pursuant to the settlement, Fox Searchlight and FoxEntertainment Group will reportedly give $495 to each claimant who worked forthem as interns for at least two weeks without pay between 2005 and 2010.
The settlement requires approval by Manhattan Federal CourtJudge William Pauley.
