South Korea said North Korea has agreed to hold inter-Korean high-level talks in the Panmunjom truce village on March 29.
South Korea's Ministry of Unification proposed the talks in preparation for the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit scheduled for April.
The South will send a three-member delegation led by Unification Minister Cho Myoung Gyon, while North Korea's three-member team will be headed by Ri Son Kwon, the chairman of its Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland Committee.
Earlier this month, South Korea's National Security Chief Chung Eui-yong announced that U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agreed to meet in May.
