Alpine Electronics fiscal Q3 profit climbs 13.9% YOY

Alpine Electronics Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥53.11 per share, a gain of 14.7% from ¥46.29 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.68 billion, an increase of 13.9% from ¥3.23 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.9% from 4.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥75.04 billion from ¥72.49 billion, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to ¥71.21 billion from ¥68.47 billion.

Reported net income increased 17.1% from the prior-year period to ¥4.42 billion, or ¥63.86 per share, from ¥3.78 billion, or ¥54.12 per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.90.
