NextEra Energy Resources energizes 1-MW solar project in New York

NextEra Energy Resources LLC on Feb 6 energized a 1-MW solar project at the Sisters of St. Joseph campus in Brentwood, N.Y.

The project will deliver power to the Sisters of St. Joseph at a predetermined price under a 25-year power purchase agreement. The solar project is expected to offset approximately 63% of the campus energy demand with an estimated first-year savings of approximately $22,000.

The facility interconnects to Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. subsidiary PSEG Long Island LLC providing net metering credits to the ministry and offsetting their power bill.

Long Island-based EmPower Solar CES LLC co-developed the system with the NextEra Energy Inc. subsidiary.
