ViacomCBS fully acquires Israeli content producer Ananey

ViacomCBS Networks International fully acquired Ananey Communications Ltd., an Israeli content producer and pay TV channel provider, for an undisclosed sum.

The ViacomCBS Inc. unit purchased the shares in Ananey it does not already own following its acquisition of a minority stake in the company in December 2016. The takeover transaction was completed April 6, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.

Ananey's founder and chairman, Udi Miron, will stay on in a new role as a special adviser to Ananey. He will also act as general partner of a newly formed venture capital fund, Gazella – New Media Experience, which he and ViacomCBS Networks International will jointly invest in. The fund will focus its investments in Israeli media- and technology-related businesses.

As a result of the deal, Ananey will now be consolidated into ViacomCBS Networks International.
