TikTok Inc. is planning to provide selling features on its platform in the U.S., the Financial Times reported Feb. 7, citing sources.
The Beijing Byte Dance Telecommunications Co. Ltd. unit notified its advertisers about the upcoming features on the platform intended to be launched within the year.
Under the plan, brands would be allowed to exhibit their products on the platform and offer livestream shopping. Its most popular users can also share product links and earn commissions on sales of said products.
The reported plan comes after TikTok teamed up with e-commerce platform Shopify Inc. in late 2020.
