Review into HBOS fraud delayed

A review of fraud at HBOS PLC's Reading branch has been delayed until the second half of 2020 or later, The Times reported Feb. 17.

Dame Linda Dobbs, the retired U.K. high court judge conducting the independent review into what the senior managers knew or should have known about the fraud at HBOS, a unit of Lloyds Banking Group PLC, is still in the process of gathering evidence, according to the Dobbs' counsel.

The scandal saw business clients ensnared in fraudulent lending practices and led to the demise of many small companies.
