RedBird Capital, South Korean entertainment firm invest $275M in Skydance

New York-based RedBird Capital Partners LLC and South Korean entertainment and merchandising firm CJ ENM CO. Ltd. have partnered to make a $275 million strategic investment in Los Angeles-based Skydance Media.

The Ellison family and Tencent Holdings Ltd., both investors in Skydance, also took part in the investment round.

The investment puts the value of Skydance at $2.3 billion.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and The Raine Group were financial advisers to the transaction, while Latham & Watkins LLP and Paul Hastings LLP were legal advisers.
