Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.'s digital wallet is now available in Singapore, allowing Huawei users in the city-state to make cashless payments with their devices.
Huawei Pay was rolled out in the Southeast Asian market on April 3, a day ahead of the P40 series' arrival in Singapore. Users can enable Huawei Pay by adding their bank cards to the Huawei Wallet app, which comes preloaded in Huawei's P40 smartphones. For older Huawei and Honor smartphone models, the app can be downloaded from Huawei AppGallery.
Huawei Pay supports near field communication payment and uses biometric authentication methods to ensure payment security. With these, users will be able to tap their Huawei smartphones to point-of-sale terminals to pay in stores.
Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd.'s Singapore unit is the first lender to support Huawei Pay and is offering special benefits for ICBC UnionPay cardholders.
